INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING?

The next World Conference on Women and Sport will be held in Montreal, May 16 to 19, 2002. The Conference is intended for women and men who make decisions or influence policy related to women and sport at the national or international level. Five hundred (500) delegates from seventy (70) countries are expected at the Conference, which will provide an opportunity to take stock of progress for women and sport since the second World Conference in Namibia in 1998, share experiences, strengthen international connections, and find ways to stimulate action at all levels of society.

If you wish to get involved as a volunteer for the 2002 World Conference on Women and Sport, please download and complete the attached application form:

  1. Please indicate your name, phone numbers, mailing address, email address, and other information as requested.
  2. Send this information, along with your interest for the different areas of involvement, in order of priority (first choice, second choice, etc)
  3. Depending on the area, we will need volunteers from May 14 to 20. Please indicate your availability, and note that a minimum of two four-hour periods will be required. Depending on the number of applications, we regret that we may not be able to accept all applications.
  4. Please return this form duly completed and signed by fax, email, or at the following address:

Requirements:

  1. Specific requirements apply to some positions. As a principle, priority will be given to candidates who have the most time availability and/or fluency in two or more of the official languages of the conference (French, English and Spanish)
  2. Candidates must be at least 18 years old
  3. Drivers must be at least 25 years of age and have a minimum of five years driving experience
  4. Candidates must attend an orientation session, to be held in the evening (Choices of dates: April 18 or 23). For some positions, candidates may be required to attend a second session prior to the conference.
