The Honourable Paul Devillers
The Honourable Paul DeVillers is the Secretary of State (Amateur
Sport) and Deputy Leader of the Government in the House of
Commons. Mr. DeVillers was first elected to the House of Commons
in 1993 and was re-elected in 1997 and 2000. He has served
as Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the Queen's
Privy Council for Canada and Minister of Intergovernmental
Affairs. His committee experience includes work as Vice-Chair
of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights, and
as member of the Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs,
Northern Development and Natural Resources, and the Standing
Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development. Mr.
DeVillers' career as a lawyer with Midland and Penetanguishene
spans more than twenty years. He has also been a municipal
solicitor, and has raised funds for the Rosewood Shelter for
Battered Women and Children. |
