Dr. Sue Neill (Canada)
Dr Sue Neill is the Director of Sport Policy within the
Department of Canadian Heritage (Sport Canada) of the Government
of Canada. She has been the Co-chair of the International
Working Group on Women and Sport since 1998 and a member
since 1994. Prior to joining the Government of Canada, Dr.
Neill was a professor of physical education at the University
of Alberta where she also coached field hockey and volleyball.
Dr. Neill has maintained her interest and involvement in
field hockey and has served as a Tournament Director and
Technical Officer for World Cups, Olympic Games and major
competitions around the world. She is currently a member
of the Executive Board of the International Hockey Federation
and the General Secretary of the Pan American Hockey Federation.
Dr Neill received her PhD in Education Administration
from the University of Ottawa, MSc from the University of
Alberta and BPHE from the University of Toronto. She has
been inducted into the Halls of Fame of both the University
of Alberta and the University of Toronto for her contribution
to sport in Canada.
