A report from the IWG Co-Chairs, regional representatives and international organizations on the progress accomplished since 1998.
10:30 -12:00 Development through Sport - A New Way of Thinking (Plenary)

Explore ways sport can be used as a powerful tool for the development of individuals - particularly women and girls, communities and nations. The presenters highlight development programs underway and showcase examples of sport as a vehicle for social change, economic development and human development.

13:30-17:00 Girls' and Women's Development through Sport - A choice of two 90-minute workshop sessions on Sport as a Vehicle to Address Change. Explore different models for development and learn about successful strategies. Presentations will be followed by discussions. Workshop topics include: Youth-at-Risk; Health; Cultural Understanding; Peace; Community Leadership Development; Disability; Physical Education; and Coaching

A celebratory dinner hosted by the Government of Canada to highlight outstanding achievements relating to Women and Sport

8:30-10:00 Changing the Culture and Systems of Sport (Plenary)
This session will focus on how to change sport systems and cultures. It will provide practical examples of how participants can facilitate change and become successful change agents.

Choose from the following twelve workshops : How to Change Organizational Culture; How to Influence through Government Policy; How to Influence Others' Agendas; How to Set Up a Women and Sport Organization or Committee; How to Ensure Progress through Targets, Quotas and Other Measurable Objectives; How to Build a Culture of Respect : Addressing Harassment and Abuse; How to Involve Indigenous Populations; How to Secure Financial Resources; How to Engage Youth; Women as Leaders: How to Effect Change as a Woman; How to Engage The Sport Science and Medicine Community; How to Engage the Media.

Luncheon keynote- The Rise of Women's Tennis and its Contribution to the Women and Sport Movement
Ms. King offers her perspective and recommendations on 'changing the system' based on her experiences as an athlete, pioneer, leader and advocate.
