Notes:
- As most of you know, the USA has no government sport agencies.
- The closest we come to government subsidy is sport programs conducted by public schools and public universities.
- But for the most part, our organizations are not-for-profit groups of volunteers who organize and administer competition, teaching, professional education or advocacy organizations that do not receive government funds
- Founded in 1974 by Billie Jean King, the Women’s Sports Foundation is one of those NGOs that exists to ensure participation and leadership opportunities for girls and women in sports and fitness.
- We believe that the surest path to social change is education –
- We play a major role as data collectors and distributors, give financial assistance to girls sports organizations and individuals, give awards to increase the visibility of girls and women in sport, provide free consultation on the development of local, state, and national women’s sports serving organizations in the USA and abroad, and assist and activate US citizens to stand up for the equal rights of girls and women in sport
- WSF USA shares everything we do with everyone.. Our mission is public service.. WE invite your inquiry at any time.
