Women in sport had nothing to do with Title IX…we were not political and were very much isolated in our gymnasia…we didn’t know the other teachers at our schools much less politicians or non-sport people or organizations
Title IX was one sentence in a huge national education law…stuck in there…almost hidden…not debated…so simple and non-controversial on its face
The law was originally intended to eliminate quotas on the number of women admitted to law, business, engineering and medical schools…to eliminate discrimination against women in higher education.
